Highlight Quote of the Article- “Beware of the agave nectar"
While agave syrup does have a low-glycemic index, so does antifreeze — that doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
Most agave syrup has a higher fructose content than any commercial sweetener — ranging from 70 to 97 percent, depending on the brand, which is FAR HIGHER than high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which averages 55 percent.
This makes agave actually WORSE than HFCS.
A surprising article that sheds light on what was once thought to be a healthy alternative but due to recent research on the actual processing, production of the Agave Nectar it has been found to be worse than HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) .

Highlight Quote of the article -
The story goes that Schlatter accidentally spilled one of the chemicals he was using onto his finger. STEVIA-
Highlight Quote of this Article- “FDA approved two new Stevia based Sweeteners”
Meanwhile, in the United States, natural Stevia has been the subject of searches and seizures, trade complaints, and embargoes on importation. Many believe that the FDA’s actions regarding Stevia have been, and still are, nothing more than a restraint to trade, designed to benefit the artificial sweetener industry.
In this small article Mercola gives you insight into the FDA process and speculates their true intentions on the regulations surrounding the approval/disapproval of Stevia based sweeteners and Natural Stevia Products.
Stevia as a natural alternative to sugar-
Stevia is the only natural alternative to sugar we recommend at Abundant Life. The only problem is that, as you will read in the article above not all Stevia products are created Equal (so to speak). Look for the stevia products with the least ingredients, no added sweeteners to the product such erythritol, xylitol, maltodextrin, sucralose, and/or sugar of any kind. The liquid versions are usually the best.
One product that is up for debate is Truvia, a product that claims to be natural but adds a few extra ingredeints e.g. erythritol and xylitol. Truvia’s parent company is Coca Cola . Coca Cola makes Coca Cola. That comparison alone should suffice. Plus, Coca Cola produces most if not all the other sodas known to man for every fast food joint in the world so you be the judge. PureVia is made from Pepsi. Look out for that one as well.
